Horrocks-Ibbotson Co. of Utica, New York was founded in 1880 and grew into one of America's largest production tackle manufacturers, competing directly with giants like Montague and South Bend for the better part of a century, before closing its doors in 1978.

This is the "Barnegat" model — named for the famed saltwater fishing grounds of Barnegat Bay, New Jersey, and originally marketed for saltwater angling. Featuring the era's classic Bakelite side plates in excellent original condition, with no chips or cracks, clearly marked "Horrocks-Ibbotson Co., Utica, N.Y." Fully working — smooth level-wind action, ready to fish or display.
