A near complete set of vintage fly-tying tools, kept together in their original fitted wooden box with brass hinges and hook-and-eye clasp — the kind of boxed kit an angler would have picked up decades ago to tie their own flies at the vice, rather than buy them ready-made off the shelf.

The set includes a bobbin holder still threaded with black tying silk, two sizes of fine-pointed scissors, a bodkin (dubbing needle) with a turned black handle, and a whip finisher for tying off the head of the fly. Each tool sits in its own loop in the box lining, laid out ready for use.

The tools show the Sunrise India maker's marks visible on inspection — a well respected name in fly fishing tackle from India. Probably mid-20th century. The tools show honest signs of age and use: light surface marks on the metal, a well-worn thread spool, and a box with visible handling wear to the varnish and corners, but hinges and clasp both sound and working.

A lovely, self-contained piece for a working fly-fisherman who wants tools with some history, or for a collector of vintage angling and fly fishing equipment.
