SADF Toggle Rope ("Tokkel Tou") — 1970s–80s Military Issue, 190cm

A genuine SADF standard-issue toggle rope, known to soldiers by its Afrikaans name "tokkel-tou" — issued widely through the 1970s and 80s. Originally derived from British commando kit of WWII, the toggle rope let soldiers link multiple ropes together end-to-end to form an improvised rope bridge or ladder, secure loads for hauling, or serve as an ad-hoc tool in the field. A simple, versatile bit of kit that saw genuine hard use.
